ELCT-Konde Diocese

The Diocese of Konde is one of the dioceses of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tanzania (ELCT), headquartered in Tukuyu, Rungwe District, Mbeya Region. This diocese was established with the aim of spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ as well as providing various social services to the people of the Southern Highlands of Tanzania. In addition to spiritual services, the Diocese of Konde has been at the forefront in making significant contributions in the sectors of education, health, community development, as well as economic projects that help improve the living conditions of the people.

The diocese is made up of several dioceses spread across the Mbeya and Songwe regions. These dioceses are Mbeya East, Mbeya West, Western, Tukuyu, Kyela, Central, as well as the new Diocese of Kamsamba (Missioni), Mwakeleli. Each diocese is made up of various congregations which are the basis of pastoral and social services. Through this system, the diocese manages its congregations, hospitals, health centers, schools, Bible and technical colleges, as well as development projects aimed at strengthening solidarity and uplifting the lives of the entire community.
